My niece celebrated her 13th birthday with a flip-flop themed party at the end of July. For the thong part of the flip-flop, I used ones from an actual (new) pair of flip-flops. After much washing, I decorated them with icing. This was the first time I used a non-food item on a cake.
The one fish two fish red fish blue fish cake was adorable - very, very proud of what you are doing.
